What qualifies a person or business as a Team Member?

All Team Members, whether individuals or businesses, volunteer to participate in the Team Concrete initiative by getting involved in projects in their area. To signify their participation, they sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which outlines the requirements and responsibilities of Team Members.

What does PCA have to do with Team Concrete?

The Portland Cement Association, or PCA, is a trade organization for cement companies. It is coordinating how Team Members sign on to the program and tracks the participation and results reported by Team Members. PCA is also the Team Members' source for various resources, such as marketing and promotional supplies.

I am interested in starting a Team Concrete project in my community. What should I do first?

There are many ways to get started; decide what type of project you would like to undertake. Once a project type is selected, you can contact Team Concrete Coordinator to find out contact the information for a Team Member in your area. The Team Member should be able to help you with the proper technical information you will need to get approval from the appropriate local authorities. From there, it's a matter of contacting other interested parties and putting the resources together.

Who pays for a Team Concrete project?

Team Concrete projects come in all shapes and sizes, so a definitive answer is difficult to provide. However, part of the Team Member's agreement to participate in the program is that the Team Member provide their resourcesÑproducts, services, time or laborÑat reduced or no cost to the group organizing the project. Therefore, while not all materials may be donated outright, Team Members are not making money on their participation in Team Concrete.

Do Team Concrete Team Members work with not-for-profit groups, such as Habitat for Humanity?

Team Concrete is happy to partner with not-for-profits like Habitat for Humanity. While certain elements of building with concrete need to be left to professionals, there are many ways that Habitat clients and volunteers can participate in the process, thus accruing the sweat equity that Habitat and similar organizations require.
